Summer Sojourn, Day 11
We'd sorta planned on painting the furnace shed on Sunday, as it was
projected to be cooler, but when we went out around 8 it was still
cloudy and fairly pleasant, so why not?
We had an 'airless' sprayer and about three gallons of paint left over
from another job, so off we went. The paint was a little 'lumpy,' but
the sprayer seemed to handle it well enough—you can rotate the nozzle
180° to clear clogs. (I started out trying to keep the sprayer clean;
after two 'fills' I gave up.)
New untreated wood really sucks up paint, so it's not perfect, but looks
ok from the road. :-)
There's been some noise from the front right bearing on X's car, let's
change the pair. It took a fair amount of beating to get everything out
(in two pieces, in the event)—dissimilar metals corrode, especially
when aluminum is involved.
Eventually it was all apart, and then back together (with a coating of
sticky grease, maybe that will help, next time). One of the new
assemblies had a dinged grease seal, so that'll go back to the vendor,
and the left side will have to wait.
