Summer Sojourn, Day 25
Pulled the fuel pump and chucked it in a vise to try it out—it didn't
pump. Crawled back over various impediments in the shed to get at that
spare motor, and wrestled off its fuel pump.
Despite its appearance, it pumped with alacrity, so after scraping off
the old gasket from the block...
...in it went.
Getting it reconnected took
some tube bending and a bit of cursing; eventually it was in and
connected, and now when started the motor continued to run.
We hadn't had the correct starter solenoid, but stopped at an auto parts
store while on another errand and remedied that.
Now the motor started and ran the way it should, and after an adjustment
to the idle circuit, idled at the correct speed.
Finally, a picture of the parish church I attended in my youth.
Perhaps it's the 'baby duck' syndrome, but that's the way a church
should look!
