Mid-Wis Maple, Day 02

It's cold here! It seems my blood has finally thinned enough that I can't just shrug it off; even bundled up in boots, coveralls, stocking cap and gloves my fingers were frozen after just a half hour of hanging pails on some box elders we're tapping to make syrup from. Xavier, bare handed, shrugged it off.

Unfortunately, I didn't think to take any pictures of that tapping until I would have had to tramp back over the creek in deep snow to get them; maybe later.

I did take a picture of this seedling stand X cobbled together from scrap so Mary can get some flowers going in the south sun coming into the upstairs bathroom window.

And another of the dormant sugarbush from which we pirated the pails for the box elder tapping.
