Summer Soiree, Day 24
The job for today was to get this stack of boards out from the old barn up into Xavier's new shed.
So we hooked up the wagon...
...and headed down.
It was a lot of hand work; the floor of the hay mow isn't in the best of shape, we didn't trust it to hold the tractor. So we'd load up the forks and place (and dump) the load onto the wagon. It took two runs, this is the second load ready to head out.
Getting it into the shed was a reverse of loading...
...and much hand work to sort and even the pile.
Eventually it was done.
Note that there are several discrete levels; some of the boards are finished, most are rough cut, so if you need some lower in the pile, you can get the forks in to lift the upper ones off.
While we were down at the farm, Xavier hoisted Joe up to cut the the wire that the tree had grown around.
Said wire used to supply electricity to the barn, not used for years. It's aluminum, which surprised me—I didn't know that was an option, back in the day.
That whole evolution didn't take up the whole day, so back to that cultivator, where Xavier torched off the tongue.
The plan is to use a three-point hitch to haul / operate it, although we're not sure just how, yet.
