Summer Soiree, Day 27

We weren't really done yesterday, there are always a few niggling things to take care of.
Apropos of nothing in particular, I thought a torch-heated-to-break-the-rust-bonds bolt head looked hot...
hot

Many of the clamps holding the tines were loose, tightening them (without the torch work) often resulted in this: Broke

We bent some of these...

...into shape with more torch work and installed them.
Installed

Then we fork-lifted the assembly out onto the driveway and hooked it up.

It did make marks in the ground... Working

...but a closer examination shows the tines aren't really digging, they're sort of floating.
Working-ish

We realized that some of the iron we'd removed was there to lower the tines and keep them down, so we took a piece of that, figured out what angle we wanted them at, and bolted it in. It survived for a few seconds before the mounting geometry said "Sorry, guys..." and gave up.
Bent-ish

We dragged it back to the garage and started re-engineering a fix; we'll be working on that today...it's raining, anyway.
