Short day, I was heading for Oklahoma City to hook up with a guy I missed on my June 'Wedding Wander.' I don't like limited access roads in general and toll roads in particular, so picking OK66 (old US66) was an easy choice. And it took me almost straight to Doug's house where I was greeted by Doug, Dolores, and Jack the dog.

After I settled in a bit, I got a connoisseurs tour of the renovated Oklahoma City center, including this depiction of the land race when the territory was opened up for homesteading. The statues are 1-1/2 life size bronze with incredible detail.

After a pub lunch we came back and put together a stand for the 55" LCD flat panel Doug scored from his neighbor, who was moving to China. Then dinner at a unique barbeque restaurant, and finally, since it was "talk like a pirate" day, a venue featuring a pirate band and patrons costumed in kind. We stayed through a set, but how much "Aargh, matey" can you take?
