Mid-Wis Maple, Day 09

'Member all that snow from two days ago? Gone, mostly...


Back in the woods it takes longer to melt, but it's tough to walk in. We toured the pails we'd hung—some were dry, some had a bit in the bottom, a few were running well. The black specks in the pail are tiny mites—they don't drink much!


We got the syrup filter station ready to go, although we haven't even started to cook...
