Mid-Wis Maple, Day 10

Busy day... We took a run out to Cadott to pick up some jugs...


...then went back into the woods, where we gathered what sap had run into the buckets we'd hung a couple of days ago.

Then Xavier laid in the fire...



...while the sap was draining from the storage tank into the cook pan.




A good fire had the sap steaming in no time.


At this point we're just sterilizing it, we let that fire go out, and will repeat the process until there's enough sap in the tank to keep a boil going and finish into syrup.
