Mid-Wis Maple, Day 13
We made liver sausage, using Daddy's old recipe (~ 5-1 pork to pork liver; sage, salt, & pepper 'to taste') and packed it into 1 pound containers for freezing.
Then we went back to the sugarbush, gathered (not a lot of) sap and boiled it enough to kill the bacteria; here's X 'mudding' the pan to keep the heat in.
Back at the homestead, some of the box elders were running well, we got a
lot of sap, too much for the little pan to take all at once; eventually we got it all in...
Here's X, 'mudding' that pan also.
