Summer Soiree, Day 05

Seems early in the season to me, but we (well, not me--I always hated picking them) harvested enough beans to put some up. I did help with the prep...




...packed them into jars, then into the pressure cooker...


...for half an hour, and out.



The placement of the new shed meant the clothesline had to move; as part of the prep for that, the contractor drilled a couple of holes in another part of the lawn. Xavier used the loader on the old Allis to lift them into those holes; we tweaked them level and aligned...


...then packed dirt around them and flowed water in to get everything pretty well set.




What isn't readily apparent from the pictures is that the poles were originally set into wet concrete in their original holes, so there's about four feet of a concrete plug buried in those holes.
