Summer Soiree, Day 16
The day started with a 'brothers breakfast' featuring pancakes, liver sausage, and maple syrup.
The liver sausage is somewhat of an acquired taste (of German origin), made from ground-up pork and pork liver,
seasoned heavily with sage; it looks pretty gross if you don't know how
good it tastes!
Pete's digging in, Mike's contemplating another pancake, and Xavier's done with the peanut butter.
Then we went out and unloaded those bricks from last week, stacking them against the old shed.
(Note the cement blocks holding them down from blowing away in the wind.)
I was doing the stacking, and this weed managed to be strategically placed, avoiding getting crushed by the
first couple of courses. So I gave it a chimney to grow through. We'll see...
This power broom has been languishing in the garage with a broken drive shaft:
We replaced said shaft...
...with a new one, and curious about the lubrication in its gear box, popped the cover.
I was surprised by the wear on the worm-driven gear...it may survive another season or so, depending on who's pushing it.
