Summer Soiree, Day 20
Xavier salvaged this motor from a defunct washing machine...
...to use in the cement mixer.
It took some research to determine which wires might / would spin it, white & yellow did the trick, although it requires manual starting. (The start capacitor is missing.)
We fiddled around a bit, figuring a way to mount it, and got to the point where welding would be needed...
...when family arrived.
The occasion was a joint celebration of Pete's and my birthdays (late for me, early for Pete) up at Mike's.
We each got a pie, baked by Janie.
We went for a walk to the pond, yclept "Hank Lake" in honor of our Dad (who bulldozed it back in the '60s),
where Mike has engineered this railroad-tie bridge over the problematic outflow.
The evening wound down with an extensive round of horseshoes in Mike's regulation pits. I caught Ken...
...and Bern...
...in action; ultimately everyone scored at least one 'ringer' and Bern got the rare 'tips-up'.
By then it was getting late, and the crowd dispersed.
